Battery and warranty
8 yrs (drive battery; check the km limit with Volvo). The warranty runs from when the car was first sold, so a 2018 car has none left and a 2018 car none left. Hybrid batteries are small and usually last the life of the car, but ask whether the hybrid system has had any warnings, and check the service history. A Toyota hybrid battery costs about $2,500–$3,500 fitted: battery replacement costs.
Running costs
At 250 km a week with NSW prices, a 2016–21 (T8 Twin Engine) Volvo XC90 T8 plug-in hybrid costs about $23 a week charged mostly at home, or $48 on public fast chargers.
